1. What is the ‘Digital European Sky SRIA survey’? Why do we collect, store and process your data?

The ‘Digital European Sky SRIA survey’ is a public survey open to all citizens, groups and organisations to reflect on the proposed Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the Digital European Sky. The survey is powered by the SurveyMonkey tool.

EUROCONTROL is leading the SESAR Project PJ20-W2-AMPLE about ‘Master Plan Maintenance’, which coordinates the creation and consolidation of this SRIA on request of the SESAR Joint Undertaking (SJU). EUROCONTROL uses the survey facilities of SurveyMonkey to undertake an extensive survey of the widest possible range of aviation and non-aviation stakeholders including those interested in high-level operations and the use of unmanned aircraft systems (drones) and private and public organisation of any kind. EUROCONTROL and the SESAR partners will use the results of the survey to improve the document before its completion.

We need to assess the relevance and trustworthiness of responses we get. For this reason, we collect personal contact information.

We need to assess the completeness of the range of stakeholders that we have reached with the survey. For this reason, we collect information about the organisation that you represent. This does not apply if you respond in the capacity of a private person.

The data listed in paragraph 2) of item 2. above, may be used to generate analytical reports. There will be two types of reports:

  • Generic reports: will cover the type of respondent/geographical coverage and the ratings of the questions. They will be used to build an overview of the representativeness of the responses with respect to the stakeholder community that has an interest in the SRIA survey. Statistics by category of this data may be published after the closure of the survey.
  • Detailed reports which will display all the data aggregated (except the one of item 2. paragraph 1) under the form of a statistical report with the comments of the respondents on the chapters 2, 3, 4 of the SRIA. These reports will be used by the team in charge of the update/review of the SRIA after this survey to enrich the document.

In both generic and detailed reports, the name/size of your organisation may be presented if you have agreed to this in the first question of the survey.
